Along with good oral hygiene, the most effective way to protect the health and aesthetics of
your teeth is by having regular check-ups and dental cleaning at our office, twice per year.
This preventive “routine” will prevent the damage of your teeth or will allow us to intervene
with timely treatment or restoration.
With regular check-ups we assess the condition of the teeth and gums in order to proceed to any appropriate treatments which may be needed. By examining the mouth in detail, we
identify any damages and we are able to diagnose issues on time and accurately. Common problems we come across include dental caries, gingivitis and oral diseases. In this way, any treatment required will probably be less invasive and we treat the problem before it progresses.
Beside the clinical examination, a radiographic examination may be required in order for us to have a clearer picture of your mouth. All data will be correlated with your medical history with respect to your general and dental health. Parallel to check-ups, consultation regarding your oral hygiene, nutritional or other habits
which may affect your dental health, etc. is also very important.
With time, plaque and tartar develop on the surface of the teeth. We can keep them in check by regularly brushing our teeth and using dental floss, however, this does not suffice. Plaque
and tartar develop also in areas that are hard to reach with brushing and flossing, such as, for example, along the gum line. In these cases, only dental cleaning is efficient.
Dental cleaning is one of the most important dental practices, because plaque and tartar lead to the development of dental caries and periodontal diseases which can lead to more serious problems in the future. The procedure also includes teeth polishing which removes surface stains.
Dental fillings are a common restoration procedure for the restoration of teeth which have
been damaged by dental caries. If the damage has not reached the pulp and the damage to the structure of the tooth is limited, a filling usually suffices to treat the dental cavity. Dental
fillings effectively restore the shape, endurance and normal function of the tooth, substituting for the damaged enamel and dentin. During the procedure, we remove the damaged tissue, we clean the area and prepare it for the dental filling. The filling material which provides the best aesthetic results is tooth-colored composite resin, but more extensive fillings might
require inlays.
